This Privacy Policy explains how DailyTrader ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the application. By using DailyTrader you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

• Account information — your username and, optionally, your email address (used for password resets and important notifications).
• Your content — data you create in the app: trade journal entries, pre-market checklists, weekly reviews, P&L records, and AI chat conversations.
• Usage & technical data — basic logs (request metadata, timestamps, IP address) used to operate, secure, and debug the service.

2. How we use your information

• To provide the service: render your dashboard, save your journal and checklists, and power AI features.
• To secure your account and prevent abuse (authentication, rate limiting).
• To communicate essential account and service notices.

3. Third-party services

We rely on trusted providers to operate. Content you submit may be processed by these providers solely to deliver the feature you requested:

• AI processing — chat messages and content you ask the assistant about are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate responses.
• Email — transactional emails (welcome, password reset) are sent via an email provider.
• Hosting — the application and database are hosted by our infrastructure provider.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Cookies & local storage

We use a single secure, HTTP-only cookie to keep you signed in. We use your browser's local storage to remember preferences (theme, filters) and to cache your chat history on your device.

5. Data retention

We retain your data while your account is active. You can export or delete your data at any time from Settings → Account. Deleting your account permanently removes your content.

6. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, export, correct, or delete your personal data. The app provides self-serve export and deletion; for anything else, contact us.

7. Security

We protect your account with hashed passwords, secure cookies, security headers, input validation, and regular database backups. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to safeguard your information.

8. Children

DailyTrader is not intended for anyone under 18.

9. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be communicated in-app or by email.
